Craft shelf :)

All it took was a few 'magazine organizers' (2 for $2.99 at IKEA) and a $5.99 cookie jar from Walmart to gain back control of Nolans craft supplies.

I should have taken a before picture, imagine with me coloring books, crayons, and little random projects scattered (more like strewn) in a pile on the shelf...
Just trust me when I tell you it was one hot mess...

Happy Monday :)

Winter Inspiration

Today, I want to post an idea that I borrowed from kellehampton.com.
I totally LOVE her blog and recommend it because she is an amazing photgrapher and inspirational mother. But be warned!! It's addicting :) in a good way.
She posted a picture a few months back of a craft she created with thick twine and kids mittens.

So we decided to replicate the look and here is what we ended up with. Along with a bunch of make-you-feel-good compliments.

We found the gloves for a $1 each at Jo Anns and the twine was $6 for a large spool, which we have used in various other projects so it's definitely worth it!

And as naptime is approaching, I will leave you with this quote:
"Disect a mother's heart and see that the properties it doth contain- what pearls of love, what gems of hope. A mother's heart beats not in vain." Caleb Dunn

Oh, and this :)

Happy Thursday.

Changes :)

It's been far too long since I have made an entry on here.
So many things have changed.
So much life has happened!

Our baby bear is 18 months old!

And he has developed a slight obsession with trains, or better known as, 'tsains'!

We have also enrolled him in swim lessons at the YMCA, which will definitely come in handy as we cross a few things off of our bucket list this summer (hint, hint)!
He loves the 'awe-ter, awe-ter' & could splash around for hours.

And now for some slightly messy news, we have decided it's time to introduce... dun, dun, dun.... the potty seat! Because, Friends, if I have to continue changing diapers much longer, I WILL lose my mind :) That is a promise.

I have some fun crafts I'm getting ready to share :) Keep coming back, there will be updates!

Love, love, love.

Tree Swings

My sister and I had 2 tree swings when we were growing up. Right when you stepped off the deck was a sturdy, old tree with 2 strong limbs coming out of either side. We has a circular swing on one side and a regular swing on the other. I remember going out and spinning the swings as fast as we could until we were so dizzy we couldnt walk...
I want Nolan to have tree swing memories like I do. They are some of the fondest memories of my childhood.

So this year, the Easter Bunny brought him a tree swing.

At first he was hesitant... But once we started swinging him he just cracked up!

Many summer evenings will be spent in this swing... and I wouldnt want to spend them anywhere else!

Sleepy boy...

I dont ever want to forget the face of my sleeping baby...
He once slept in his bundle of newborn scent and sweet coos for hours in my arms but now in his place lies a sweet, rambling, 9 month old, dreaming of all that he'll explore when he wakes up...
luckily for me, it's all wrapped up in the same heart melting facial expression.

9 days old:
Special thanks to Sarah Joy Photography for his newborn pictures :)
